The Rap of War

Last week, a search brought up YouTube, a rap video in response to Saturday Night Live's Lazy Sunday. The SNL clip was viewed 5 million times before NBC asked for its removal from the site. NBC then provided the entire film on its video site.

I didn't watch the SNL clip, I watched the Lazy Ramadi on YouTube, a community network with a strategic partnership with NBC. [NBC And YouTube Announce Strategic Partnership] Should I have watched Lazy Ramadi on Viacom's ifilms instead?

These "Lazy Ramadi " guys ask you to make a donation for the soldiers. You know why that is? Because we have a "Do Nothing" Congress that serves corporations daily and takes themselves a nice "Lazy Sunday" when benefits and care, leave and duty end dates come up for the men that fight their battles. They say "Who?" see Lou Dobbs' "Do Nothing" rap, CNN.com - Dobbs: Five-weeks off for 'do-nothing Congress' - Aug 2 ...

Intro to Lazy Ramadi :

"The Middle East response to the Midwest response "Lazy Muncie", to the West Coast response "Lazy Monday" to SNL's "Lazy Sunday". PLEASE VISIT: www.dav.org or www.uswoundedsoldiers.com and make a donation."

In 2003, I send a rap to the White House in protest of the invasion. The Iraq Body Count is now over 40,000.

The "4th25" are soldiers who marketed and capitalized their message:

June 13, 2006, Newsweek issue's article on MSNBC, Soldier Rap the Pulse of war, featured the "4th25" in its expose on Iraq war rap. I found the article among 6,230,000 links for "music lyrics war peace".

"Rap the Pulse of war" is about the music lyrics of the soldiers on the streets of Iraq.

"You can't call home and tell your mom your door got blown off by an IED," says Saunders. "No one talks about what we're going through. Sure, there are generals on the TV, but they're not speaking for us. We're venting for everybody."--
"4th25", Live From Iraq.
